Hi buddies,

E-BIZ FOR BEGINNERS

I would like to extend my warmest welcome to all of you beginners of internet business, especially my buddies who together with me attended Derek Gehl's seminar THE ULTIMATE INTERNET ENTREPRENEUR BOOTCAMP on Sept 15-17th 2005 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This blog is specially dedicated to newcomers to the internet business. Let's get together and discuss and interact with one another on the subject of our online business. Your views, comments, tips and helps will be much appreciated. Let's help and guide each other start our e-biz.

Well, guys, have you started cracking on marketing your product or service already after the Seminar? Some of us may have definite products or services to market, but I am sure others have no idea at all what to market.

With regard to Rozamnah's question, I think you should open and design a web site first before you think of applying for registration of domain name and webhosting.

Remember the mistake every newbie must not make as pointed by Derek's in his Seminar workbook? (Brush up your workbook):

#1 Fatal mistake made by 99% of internet marketers...looking for the ULTIMATE product
to sell! Solution: look for an easily targeted niche market and find a product that they
are hungry for!

I think the first thing to do is create a blog of your own. It's very easy to do so (go to www.bloggers.com). You must build and develop your relationship with your visitors (guests) and try to generate traffic as much as possible to enable you to establish a large mailing database.

While starting your blog you should at the same time start searching KEYWORDS for your proposed product/service in search engines like Google. Once you have found the potential product to market then only can you think of domain names, hosting companies and merchant
and merchant accounts

In the meantime, before you are able to launch your marketing plans of your products/services through your website, it's my humble opinion that we should do well to start first with one or more of the following :

(a) blogging (newsletter)
(b) affiliate program
(c) e-bay (auctions)

One thing at a time. However, your ultimate aim is of course to market your own niche products or services. Creating and designing your own website should therefore be an ongoing process.

Your views, comments, hints and tips are very welcome and appreciated. Let's help one another to start a business on the internet.

Well, cheerio! Happy internet marketing! Wish you success and best of luck!

Yours sincerely,

Dear Mahadzar,

First of all, I wish every body Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. I'm going back to JB for the whole week. Mahadzar, actually I have the same ideas as yours about the internet business. First, start your own blog. Secondly, try to sell through the E-bay. Thirdly, joining one of those affiliates programs. Finally, you make your make your own website & sell your own products.

In my opinion, mastering doing a business or selling anything through the internet need a lot of learning curves. You need to learn a lot about almost everything. It will take you probably 6 months to a year, just learning about the internet before you actually start to the real business of selling your first product. The blog, the E-bay & the affiliate programs are your training grounds before you even build your own website. If you don't even know how to build a blog, how do you expect to build your own website? If you can't sell anything through the e-bay, then how do you expect to sell anything from your own website? And if you can't even sell someone else products through the affilliate programs, then how can you sell your own product? Think about it...
